Tom Eckersley, diseñador gráfico, 1914-1996
Tom Eckerlsey made a unique contribution to graphic design in Britain as a poster designer and graphic communicator. His bold, graphic statements coupled with memorable slogans and unique use of colour, were seen promoting some of the most iconic of British institutions such as London Transport, General Post Office, Shell, The Ministry of Information and the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). He is also recognized for his contribution to specialised graphic design education in the 1950s - an approach which he fostered during his tenure at the London College of Printing (now London College of Communication).
